KKTS is an textile club for children aged 5 to 16 and adults based in Hertfordshire. We are looking for an assistant to join our team who:
-Studying or graduated from a creative arts, textiles subject
-Has a current artistic practice
-Has an interest in teaching and working with young people
KKTS is a community that offers a fun and effective program for teaching children core artistic and textile skills. We are passionate about sharing our love of art and textiles with our students, and we are currently seeking a motivated, friendly, and practical Textiles Assistant to join our team. We are looking for an Textiles Assistant available to work the following hours in term time, and to be flexible and open to working during school holidays:
Monday 3pm - 5pm
Tuesday 3pm - 5pm
Wednesday 3pm - 5pm
Thursday 3pm - 5pm
Friday 3pm - 5pm
Term Time Only
( Holiday Club optional )
These hours are likely to grow as our club gets bigger and we need more help with our classes.
Role includes:
• Mixing paints and preparing materials
• Knowledge on fabrics and materials
• Sewing
• Encouraging children in their projects
• Assimilating art and Textile skills
• Setting up and tidying up after sessions
• Training will be provided
Requirements
• own car (preferably)
• Art or Textiles GCSE at 7-9 grade
• Knowledgeable of artistic techniques, including good knowledge of tone and perspective
• Experience working with children is preferable
• Positive and proactive attitude
Desirable
• Working towards art A level, Foundation or Art degree or Textiles or both
• Someone who lives within 30 minutes of the branch
